How it works
Where Curade's data comes from, what Curade works out itself, what runs on a schedule and who sees what.
On this page
Curade does not monitor anything itself. It collects each tenant's data from your organisation's monitoring platform into its own store, adds its own analysis on top, and drives routine operations through an automation server.
Where the data comes from
Each tenant connects to your organisation's monitoring platform through one or more sources. On a schedule, Curade collects each source's inventory of hosts, applications and services, the readings of its hosts and disks, and its transactions, and keeps them in its own store (Data collection). Dashboards, capacity planning and reports read that store, so they work over months and years of history rather than only what the monitoring platform still holds.
The sources only read. Nothing that reads them, CLEO included, changes anything in your monitoring platform.
What it works out
Some of what you see is Curade's own work rather than a figure your monitoring platform publishes:
- CLEO's answers, which draw on the collected data and on the monitoring platform itself (CLEO);
- the resize suggestion for each host, from its utilisation against the tenant's thresholds (Capacity planning);
- the reports, built from the tenant's data and the columns, hosts and transactions you choose (Report engine).
What runs on a schedule
These run on Curade's side on their own schedule, whether or not anyone has Curade open:
- data collection, for every active tenant and source (Data collection);
- scheduled reports, which build and email themselves at the times you set;
- pipelines with a schedule of their own, which the automation server starts.
Who sees what
- Your platform role and your role in each tenant decide which pages you open, and your tenants decide whose data you see (Roles and permissions).
- A dashboard is private to you until you share it with your tenant (Dashboard).
- A chat with CLEO starts Read Only, so the rest of your tenant can read it until you make it Private (CLEO).
- CLEO writes its answers with the AI provider chosen for the tenant (CLEO).
